Draft. Counsel will finalize the wording before NUVI launches. The text below is the draft prepared for that review, not final legal wording. Words in [SQUARE BRACKETS] are values counsel or NUVI has still to fill in.
1. About these Terms
These Terms govern your use of NUVI at www.nuvi.kr.
NUVI is operated by [COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME], a business established in the Republic of Korea, at [COMPANY_ADDRESS], business registration number [BIZ_REG_NO], represented by [REPRESENTATIVE_NAME].
By creating an account or using NUVI, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use NUVI.
2. What NUVI does
NUVI helps you find and connect with clinics and esthetics studios in Korea.
You can browse providers that NUVI has checked, send one request to up to five providers, receive personalised quotes in English, compare them, and confirm one provider.
After you confirm a provider, the NUVI operations team may help coordinate dates and pass information between you and that provider.
NUVI is an introduction and coordination service. NUVI is not a clinic, hospital, esthetics studio, or medical professional. We do not diagnose, treat, perform procedures, decide what procedure is suitable for you, or give medical advice.
Medical and esthetics services are provided by the provider you choose under that provider's own terms.
Where Korean law requires NUVI to hold a registration for foreign-patient attraction or referral activities, NUVI's status is: [REFERRAL_REGISTRATION_STATUS_AND_NUMBER].
3. Your account
Your account is personal to you.
You must provide accurate information when you sign up. This includes your name as shown on your passport, nationality, mobile number, date of birth, and email address.
You are responsible for keeping access to your email account and NUVI account secure.
Unless NUVI expressly allows another arrangement, you may use your account only for yourself. [COMPANION_REQUEST_POLICY]
You may have only one personal account.
NUVI may ask you to correct information that appears inaccurate. We may suspend or restrict an account where we reasonably believe there is fraud, impersonation, abuse, false identity information, misuse of the service, or an attempt to interfere with NUVI or a provider.
You may delete your account at any time through the account deletion process described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Provider listings and verification
"Verified" means that NUVI completed the checks we describe. It is not a guarantee of medical quality or outcome.
Before a provider is published, NUVI checks the provider's business or institutional registration and the other registration requirements that apply to that provider.
For a medical provider, NUVI also checks whether the institution is registered to receive foreign patients where Korean law requires that registration.
NUVI reviews provider self-description text to remove exaggerated, definitive, or comparative claims before publication.
A doctor may receive a "Board-certified · [specialty]" label only after NUVI staff confirm the relevant specialist qualification from supporting documents or an official source used by NUVI. A provider's own statement alone is not enough.
Verification does not mean that NUVI has inspected every part of the provider's service or independently assessed clinical quality. It does not guarantee safety, results, suitability, availability, or price.
We may suspend or remove a listing if information becomes outdated, cannot be re-confirmed, or no longer meets our publication rules.
More detail is available on our "How NUVI verifies providers" page.
5. Requests and photos
You choose which providers receive your request.
A request can include your procedure category, sub-category, optional budget, preferred visit period, free-text note, contact channel, and optional photos.
You may send one request to up to five providers.
Before we share your request, you choose the providers that will receive it and give the required sharing consent for those providers.
Photos are optional. If you upload a photo, you give NUVI a limited permission to store it, show it to authorised NUVI staff when needed to operate the service, and share it only with the providers you selected for that request.
NUVI does not use your request photos for advertising.
You can delete an uploaded photo at any time through the service, including after you have confirmed a provider. When the file is deleted, NUVI removes it from active storage as described in the Privacy Policy.
Do not upload a photo that you do not have the right to share.
6. Quotes
A quote is a provider's personalised estimate, not a final medical bill.
Each quote is prepared by the provider in response to your request. A quote may show the total amount, currency, what is included, what is not included, and the date until which the quote remains valid.
NUVI translates, formats, or transmits provider information so that you can compare quotes in English. NUVI does not decide the clinical content of a quote.
A provider may revise or withdraw a quote, decline a request, or allow a quote to expire.
A quote may change after an in-person consultation, examination, test, or other assessment by the provider. The provider is responsible for explaining the final services and price before you receive care.
NUVI does not publish general provider price lists. Prices shown in NUVI are personalised quotes inside your account.
7. Confirmation, booking, changes, and cancellation
Confirming means that you choose a provider and ask NUVI to help coordinate the next step.
When you confirm a quote, NUVI tells the chosen provider that you want to proceed and may help coordinate dates.
Confirmation in NUVI is not a payment to NUVI and is not a medical treatment contract with NUVI.
Whether confirmation creates a booking, deposit obligation, cancellation term, or other commitment with the provider depends on the provider's own terms and what you agree directly with that provider.
Before confirming a quote, you may withdraw your request by contacting NUVI or using any withdrawal function that is available in the service.
If you need to cancel or change a confirmation and an in-app cancellation function is not available, contact NUVI at [CONTACT_EMAIL]. We will pass the request to the provider, but the provider's own cancellation or booking terms may still apply.
8. Payment and NUVI's fee
You pay the provider directly.
NUVI does not accept payment for medical or esthetics services, does not process those payments, and does not store your payment-card details.
Any payment for care, deposit, refund, or other provider charge is handled directly between you and the provider under the provider's terms.
You do not pay NUVI a fee for sending a request, receiving quotes, or using the customer service described in these Terms.
Providers may pay NUVI a referral or commission fee after a confirmed case. That commercial arrangement does not change the amount that NUVI charges you, which is zero for the customer service described here.
NUVI does not promise that a quote is the lowest price available from that provider or elsewhere.
9. Medical and esthetics decisions
Your care decisions are between you and the provider.
Information on NUVI, including provider profiles and quotes, is provided to help you compare options. It is not medical advice.
NUVI does not recommend a particular procedure as suitable for you.
Ask the provider directly about diagnosis, medical risks, expected results, recovery, side effects, alternatives, and whether a procedure is appropriate for you.
If you have an emergency or urgent medical concern, do not use NUVI for emergency help. Contact the local emergency service where you are located.
10. Your responsibilities and prohibited use
You agree not to:
- provide false identity or contact information; - impersonate another person; - use NUVI for a person under 18; - upload content you do not have the right to share; - scrape, copy, or systematically extract NUVI data without permission; - probe, attack, interfere with, or bypass the security of the service; - use automated tools to overload or misuse NUVI; - use NUVI for fraud, spam, unlawful advertising, or another unlawful purpose; or - try to use NUVI in a way that avoids applicable provider or NUVI rules.
NUVI may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect customers, providers, the service, or legal compliance.
11. Content and intellectual property
The NUVI website, software, design, brand, and original service content belong to NUVI or its licensors.
Provider names, logos, descriptions, and provider photos are supplied or authorised by providers and remain subject to their rights.
You keep ownership of content you upload. You give NUVI only the limited rights needed to operate the service, including storing and transmitting your request and photos to the providers you selected.
You may use NUVI for your personal use. You may not copy or commercially reuse the service or its content except where the law allows it or NUVI gives permission.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights.
When you send a request to a provider, certain information is shared with that provider only after the applicable sharing consent is recorded.
Providers are separate organisations and may have their own privacy notices and legal duties for information they receive.
13. Service availability and changes
We work to keep NUVI available, but online services can sometimes be interrupted.
We may maintain, update, add, or remove features where reasonably necessary. We will not use a product change to take away rights that the law gives you.
We may correct obvious technical or display errors. If an error affects a quote or provider information, we will try to identify the source and give you the corrected information supplied or confirmed by the provider.
14. Responsibility
NUVI is responsible for what NUVI does, but the provider is responsible for the care it provides.
NUVI is responsible for operating its service with reasonable care, including transmitting requests and quotes as described, performing the verification steps we say we perform, and handling personal information as stated in our Privacy Policy.
The provider, not NUVI, is responsible for diagnosis, treatment, procedures, clinical decisions, medical explanations, outcomes, provider staffing, final pricing, and the provider's own booking or refund obligations.
NUVI is not responsible for a provider's refusal to accept a request, a change made by a provider, or a quote that expires, except to the extent a loss was caused by NUVI's own unlawful act or failure.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing excludes liability for NUVI's own intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or for personal injury directly caused by NUVI where the law does not allow an exclusion.
Your mandatory consumer rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the service, law, or our operating requirements change.
For ordinary changes, we will give at least 7 days' notice by an appropriate method such as the website or email.
For a change that is materially unfavourable to customers, we plan to give at least 30 days' notice unless the law requires a different period.
The version and effective date are shown at the top of these Terms.
If a change requires renewed consent under applicable law, we will ask for that consent before the change applies to you.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
If a dispute arises, please contact us first at [CONTACT_EMAIL]. We will try to resolve it in good faith within 30 days.
Subject to mandatory laws that protect you as a consumer, the proposed court of first instance is [DISPUTE_FORUM].
If mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country apply despite this section, those rights are not removed by these Terms.
